Bridge Church

Bridge Church is a multi-site church located in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake, Virginia. With over 1,400 regular attenders it has been one of the fastest growing churches in Eastern Virginia.

Bridge Church was born in 1994, when Pastors Archie and Tangie Callahan felt led to reach their generation, Generation X, with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Three years later, after much prayer and planning, Pastor Archie and his wife Tangie moved to Virginia Beach. There were 16 people in attendance at the first home meeting for Bridge Church, which took place on a Thursday night in January 1998. On Easter Sunday 1998, over 120 people attended Bridge Church’s first celebration service.

Due to the rapid growth of the church, in October 2002 Bridge Church moved to a local high school. The church remained at the high school for four years until it moved in the Fall of 2006 to Salem Middle School. While meeting at the school in 2005 the church bought 18 acres of land on Indian River Road in Virginia Beach. In addition, in 2009 the church was able to acquire another 10 acres bringing its total land “footprint” to over 28 acres. This allowed the church to begin to focus on constructing its first building.

On June 17, 2012, Bridge Church moved into their brand new building on Indian River Rd in Virginia Beach. Since moving into their new building, Bridge Church has experienced exponential growth. On January 1, 2017 Bridge Church opened Bridge Church Greenbrier as it’s second location.

Bridge Church is leading the way in innovation, multiplication, and leadership development.
